To keep a global DNS entry for my home network, I use Dyn Network Services' dynamic DNS service (web site here). They publish my router's IP address and provide me with an application that sends them a command each time the IP address changes. They provide me with a temporary domain name, currently ejbdesk1.dyndns-at-home.com for me.
