When I started using Photoshop CS5 for my photo editing, it required a change in my editing flow, and I decided that I needed to clean up my file associations and explorer context menus. This did not turn out to be easy, so I spent some time doing research on how the registry works, etc. I tried out a number of open source tools that obviate the need to directly edit the registry, and the best solution I have come up with is a tool called Default Programs Editor.
