NIS stopped working sort of randomly.  I was trying out VirtualBox, but I think it stopped working before that.  The Symantec support site said to reinstall the product using '''[http://liveupdate.symantec.com/upgrade/NRnR/English/NRnR.exe their remove and install tool.]'''  This made it easy, because the one tool uninstalls, downloads the latest version, prompts for re-boot, and then installs, complete with subscription information, so it is pretty painful.  This scheme did work to get it going again.

NIS stopped working sort of randomly. I was trying out VirtualBox, but I think it stopped working before that. The Symantec support site said to reinstall the product using their remove and install tool. This made it easy, because the one tool uninstalls, downloads the latest version, prompts for re-boot, and then installs, complete with subscription information, so it is pretty painful. This scheme did work to get it going again.
