Laser-printer-replacement

We have been using our LaserJet 2200 office printer for many, many years with no problems, but it started making scary noises and the paper stopped feeding most of the time. There are web sites that talk about how to fix it, but I decided that after at least 15 years of service, it was time to replace it.

The new printer is a LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn. This was in stock for a nice discount at Office Depot at about 1/3 of the cost I orignally paid for the 2200. It is a lot faster and has network functionality built in, so it is its own print server, which makes it unnecessary to use one of the computers as a print server.

Update: Ten years out, and this printer is still going strong. Maybe three paper jams over that time, which was due to damaged paper in the machine.
